Talbot was killed on the morning of June 9th, 1944. Captain Miller had chosen Talbot to be part of a squad ordered to rescue a paratrooper behind enemy lines, but was forced to replace him with Corporal Upham from the 29th Infantry Division. Talbot had been initially chosen largely based on his language and translation skills. |
