Saving Private Ryan: Shabbat challah cutter

Following the successful assault on the German positions at Omaha Beach, Private Caparzo retrieved a Hitler Youth knife from a dead German soldier. The knife was given to Private Mellish, who proclaimed it a "Shabbat challah cutter." Mellish was referring to the knife used to cut challah, a braided bread eaten during the opening ceremony of the Jewish observance of Shabbat.
