104th Medical Battalion

The 104th Medical Battalion, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Erickson, was part of the 29th Infantry Division and took part in the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. The battalion consisted of 429 enlisted men led by 36 officers.

Notes

While moving forward on Omaha Beach, Captain Miller encountered a young soldier from the 104th Medical Battalion who was part of an attempt to set up field operations. Miller ordered the soldier to drop his typewriter and move from the shelter of a hedgehog.
