There is some debate over the level of profanity used in Saving Private Ryan. Some veterans have suggested that there was far too much harsh language in the film, while others have complained that the dialogue wasn't as profane as it should have been. The 1940s was a very different place from our modern times, and swearing was a lot less common, even during the rigors of war. The novelization of Saving Private Ryan certainly goes too far, with the Captain Miller character spewing forth obscenities on almost every page! |
