While searching for Private James Ryan, a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, the men of Captain Miller's Ranger squad were given a bag full of dogtags that had been collected by Lieutenant DeWindt, a glider pilot. The dogtags had been removed from dead paratroopers, and among their numbers were Ben Rubino, Gary Ianico, Mike Cessacchio, and Rienne.
