A Ranger company in World War II consisted of the following units:

  • 1 Company Headquarters (1 officer, 2 enlisted)
  • 2 Platoons (2 officers, 56 enlisted)
    • 2 Assault Sections in each platoon

Ranger companies were smaller than standard infantry companies, their size being determined by the capacity of British LCAs.
